A little history

It was in Laval in 1973 that the first and only private hospital center in Quebec was born. In the 1980s, trans surgery (gender affirmation surgeries) was added to cosmetic surgery. It is therefore at the CMC that the only team of surgeons in the country specializing in transsexual surgery can be found. In the summer of 1989, a redesign was needed and the construction of the current building began in Montreal. The CMC welcomed its first patients at the beginning of January 1990. In 2001, orthopedic surgery was added to our activities, in 2006, bariatric surgery, urology in 2017 and finally ENT in 2019.
